Berthasia is a Financial Analyst with vast experience in financial management, controls, risk, governance and quality management. She has worked with both local and reputed international institutions in the country. Berthasia joined the World Food Programme as a volunteer in Stores and Logistics. She later joined Pricehouse Water Coopers (PWC) for Practical Training in Finance. In 2008, she was an Associate in Development Programme with the Diamond Trust Bank, before returning at PWC as a Senior Associate. In 2011, she joined the National Housing Corporation as a Senior Internal Auditor and later she was employed with Under The Same Sun as the Head of Internal Audit, before becoming the Executive Director with the same organisation. Berthasia graduated from the University of Dar es Salaam with Bachelor of Commerce – Accounting (Honours). She is an Associate Certified Public Accountant in Public Practice (ACPA-PP) offered by the National Board of Accountants and Auditors (NBAA). In 2012, she was awarded a Master of Business Administration (MBA) – Finance from the University of Dar es Salaam - Business School (UDBS). In 2017, she was certified as a IIA Global Trainer with the Institute of Internal Auditors, IIA. Berthasia is currently studying at the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI) for a Securities Industry Certification Course (SICCS). She has facilitated many professional trainings and is a member of the National Board of Accountants and Auditors (NBAA), Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), Institute of Directors in Tanzania (IoDT) and the Tanzania Association of Certified Women Accountants (TAWCA).
